The Titus 2 Project

“… The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness…. teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” (see Titus 2:2 – 5)

From an understanding of the importance of home training, our local church has sought to follow the counsel given to us in these verses. For the past few months (on the last Sunday of each month), “the aged men” and “the aged women” have gathered together to teach the younger men and women duties for practical living. We have been blessed by this Titus 2 Project, and we are seeking to share with others one of the lessons learned.

During our upcoming Upper Room Experience camp meeting retreat, we will be having a special sewing class! For all who have a desire to learn how to sew (whether female or male) we invite you to sign up and attend our Beginners Sewing Class. In this class, the student will:

– Learn how to thread a needle
– Learn how to sew on a button
– Learn how to hem

This class will be one of the many workshops held during camp meeting, so we ask that all who are interested in attending to please first register for the retreat (then sign up for the sewing class; click here for more details). The purpose of class, and the experience that we are prayerful all who attend may gain (whether in sewing, gardening, or in medical missionary and sanitarium work), may be summed up in the first 5 words of Phil. 3:10: “That I may know him”. From the example that Christ has left us, following His steps regarding any and every subject, this is the greatest lesson and object of life!

In order to receive the full benefit and experience, please plan to attend each sewing class as scheduled (Wednesday through Friday, mornings), and come with a willing heart! By God’s grace, we’ll see you August 8 – 13, 2017! Maranatha!
