Greetings Fathers and Mothers!
Many of us have heard the message to get out of the cities: “Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, 
into the country…” {LDE 99}. What is God’s great purpose in giving His people country land? Let’s look at the following verses – Psalm 105: 43-45.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
God exited the children of Israel out of Egypt, and brought them to the Promise land. He took them from slavery and lead them to freedom. Why? Was it just so that they could enjoy the fruit of the land, the olive trees, wealth, and health? Listen in to this audio recording from our family worship, at the Eden Way Outpost, to understand why!
“Let fathers, mothers, and the educators in our schools remember that it is a higher branch of education to teach children obedience. Altogether too little importance is attached to this line of education. Children will be happier, far happier, under proper discipline than if left to do as their untrained impulses suggest. Prompt and continual obedience to wise parental rule will promote the happiness of the children themselves, as well as the honor of God and the good of society. Children should learn that in submission to the laws of the household is their perfect liberty. Christians will learn the same lesson—that in their obedience to God’s law is their perfect freedom. The will of God is the law of heaven. As long as that law was the rule of life, all the family of God were holy and happy. But when the divine law was disobeyed, then envy, jealousy, and strife were introduced, and a part of the inhabitants of heaven fell. As long as God’s law is revered in our earthly homes, the family will be happy.” {CG 79}
