Last week, we highlighted some of the recent, troublesome events that took place in America. Unfortunately, the same day that the various pipe-bomb mailings were intercepted across the country, “a white man with a history of violence shot and killed two African-Americans at a Kentucky Kroger store, following a failed attempt to barge into a black church.” Then, Sabbath morning, “a man shouting anti-Semitic slurs opened fire at a Pittsburgh synagogue, killing 11 people attending Jewish services.” It is evident that this country, this world, is in a crisis!

What do these 3 incidents have in common with one another? All three suspects were motivated by hate, and showed no regard for the lives of those who would become victims of these senseless crimes.

The condition of things in the world shows that troublous times are right upon us. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men possessed of demons are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails. – {9T 11.3}

 

The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones. – {9T 11.2}

Sadly, the frequency of these reports will only increase. Our only safety is in a having a close, intimate, and personal relationship with Jesus  – He who will saves us from this sin-sick world!
