There are growing concerns from economist who assess the economic effects of Covid-19. A recent study, reported by the World Bank, estimates that the pandemic could push 150 million more people, worldwide, into ‘extreme poverty’. This report comes as we enter into flu season, with cases continuing to rise globally.

Although they observe that the state of this world is critical, there are not many who truly comprehend the circumstances within society, or the cause of this increasing poverty. The pandemic has only exacerbated conditions that have long existed in this world.

Those who hold the reins of government are unable to solve the problem of poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis.

 

 

If men would give more heed to the teaching of God’s word, they would find a solution of these problems that perplex them… {MH 183}

But instead of heeding God’s warning message, income and economic inequalities will continue to rise, and as prophesied, the suffering of millions will result in troublous times.
