With the United States surpassing both China and Italy, in the number of reported coronavirus cases, President Trump extended social distancing guidelines for the entire country. Because of this global pandemic, the nation “could record 100,000 to 200,000 deaths and millions of infections,” according to the latest projection.
In consideration of what is before us, many have contacted the ministry to inquire whether or not we would still plan for this year’s camp meeting. Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, as the Lord leads the way – we will go forward!
Often the Christian life is beset with dangers, and duty seems hard to perform. The imagination pictures impending ruin before, and bondage and death behind. Yet the voice of God speaks clearly, Go forward. Let us obey the command, even though our sight cannot penetrate the darkness. The obstacles that hinder our progress will never disappear before a halting, doubting spirit. Those who defer obedience till every uncertainty disappears, and there remains no risk of failure or defeat, will never obey. Faith looks beyond the difficulties, and lays hold of the unseen, even Omnipotence, therefore it cannot be baffled. Faith is the clasping of the hand of Christ in every emergency. {ChS 110.1}
When we do all that we can, marching forward to the sea, then the Lord will make a path for our feet. We have nothing to fear, when our Shepherd is near – We’ll see you at this year’s Upper Room Experience retreat!
