Pope Francis & The Call For Unity

Although (perhaps) sincere in their efforts, it is a misunderstanding of the prayer of Christ (see John 17) that was a reason for the development of the “World Council of Churches.” Taken from an official statement regarding the WCC, they explain that they are “… a community of churches on the way to visible unity in one faith and one eucharistic fellowship, expressed in worship and in common life in Christ. It seeks to advance towards this unity, as Jesus prayed for his followers, “so that the world may believe.”

Last week Friday, it was announced by the Vatican that Pope Francis would be traveling to Geneva in June (2018), to mark the 70th anniversary of the World Council of Churches. “The Pope will address participants and pray together with them in the ecumenical centre in Geneva. There will also be extensive media coverage, allowing as wide a possible audience to ‘see and hear what this visit means for the WCC and for the whole ecumenical movement’”

Brothers and Sisters, we must understand that not all prayers for unity are created equal. If the call for unity speaks not according to the law and testimony of God, it is because there is no light in them!

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” In the near future we shall see these words fulfilled as the Protestant churches unite with the world and with the papal power against commandment keepers. The same spirit which actuated papists in ages past will lead Protestants to pursue a similar course toward those who will maintain their loyalty to God.

Church and state are now making preparations for the future conflict. Protestants are working in disguise to bring Sunday to the front, as did the Romanists. Throughout the land the papacy is piling up her lofty and massive structures, in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions are to be repeated. And the way is preparing for the manifestation, on a grand scale, of those lying wonders by which, if it were possible, Satan would deceive even the elect. {5T 449}

More pieces of the prophetic end-time puzzle are being laid. More than ever before, we need to have a true knowledge and understanding of who God is, what the position and work of our great High Priest currently is, and what His mission is for us as His children. When we enter into a close, intimate, and personal relationship with God, and can unite with Him in His work, upholding the truth as revealed through His law in the heavenly Sanctuary, then the work will be finished!
