Promised Benefits

According to an annual report released Monday, “Social Security’s trust funds will be tapped out by 2035″. What does this mean exactly? It is reported that at that time, the program will only have enough revenue coming in to pay three-quarters of the promised benefits for tens of millions of retired Americans…

News like this is not surprising; the promises of men are like ropes of sand. In fact, inspiration has explained exactly why this is, and what lesson the Lord is seeking for us to understand:

We are prone to look to our fellow men for sympathy and uplifting, instead of looking to Jesus. In His mercy and faithfulness God often permits those in whom we place confidence to fail us, in order that we may learn the folly of trusting in man and making flesh our arm… {MH 486}

Dependence upon God –the beauty and simplicity of trusting in Him– is a lesson that must be learned now, especially before the soon coming crisis. When resources fail, when no man will be able to buy or sell (save he that have the mark of the beast), we must know for ourselves who the Source of all life is.

Is this an experience that you are seeking to enter into, today? In our 6-disc, DVD series, Living Fountain or Broken Cisterns, you can learn more about these coming events, and how to practically experience His goodness, for yourself. He is faithful that promised: “Let us trust fully, humbly, unselfishly in God.”
