Just weeks before the Brexit negotiations are set to come to an end, when (at that time) the United Kingdom is to depart from the European Union, a definitive agreement is yet to be made. Contention between parliament and the prime minister of the U.K., Theresa May, is still on-going. Not only is division being witnessed within the island nation itself, but the entire continent of Europe is at odds with the anticipated results of the March 29th separation. The nations are in a desperate search for a solution.

On March 25, 2017, a warning from Pope Francis was given; when “the leaders of the 27 EU Members States, met in Italy to pay tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, which formed the European Economic Community (EEC) and paved the way for the European Union.” It was during this time that he pointed to the present and future domestic and global challenges of the Union, indicating that they were at risk of “dying”.

The historical relationship between these European countries and the papacy is one of darkness and persecution. “Marvelous in her shrewdness and cunning is the Roman Church” – it is not surprising that her counsel is now being welcomed… but at what cost?

The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. . . . They are working in blindness. They do not see that if a Protestant government sacrifices the principles that have made them a free, independent nation, and through legislation brings into the Constitution principles that will propagate papal falsehood and papal delusion, they are plunging into the Roman horrors of the Dark Ages. {LDE 125.3}

Like pawns strategically played in hopes of establishing his demonic kingdom, the devil (through the papal power) is bidding her time and will soon come to the aid of these divided nations. The exaltation of the laws of men, above the Law of God, will be the presented solution to their challenges. With undeniable certainty, all the world will wonder after the beast (Rev. 13:3).
