A few months ago, we highlighted the ongoing crisis that has been taking place in Venezuela. Since news was reported in January, of the political unrest in the country, the conditions are only getting worse for its citizens (in many aspects); and the division is widening between supporters of President Maduro and those of the opposition leader, Juan Guaido. This rift includes the one formed between the U.S. and Russia, over how to resolve the crisis in Venezuela; especially since Russian military personnel were deployed there last month.

The U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, made his position very clear, warning, “that the United States and regional countries will not stand idly by as Russia exacerbates tensions in Venezuela.” These countries (the U.S. and Russia) are two of four that prophecy has named will be involved in the movements towards a future civil war (see 5MR 305.4). 

The enemy of souls is working tirelessly behind the scenes, to ensure the progress of events in the marshalling of the nations. While he continues to advance his devious plots, God will only give allowance to that which works in accordance to His redemptive plan. From the pen of inspiration, we read:

We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecies are fulfilling. Strange and eventful history is being recorded in the books of heaven,–events which it was declared should shortly precede the great day of God. Everything in the world is in an unsettled state. The nations are angry, and great preparations for war are being made. Nation is plotting against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. The great day of God is hasting greatly. But although the nations are mustering their forces for war and bloodshed, the command to the angels is still in force, that they hold the four winds until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads. {RH, January 28, 1909 par. 3}

God is not willing that any should perish, even while the pieces of the prophetic puzzle are quickly falling into place. Everything is coming together, ready for the great and final conflict… What about you, dear Reader? Are you preparing for what is soon to come?

While the opportunity is still available, we encourage you to prayerfully and carefully study God’s Holy Word; especially becoming better familiar with the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. God has promised that when we (guided by the Holy Spirit) gain a better understanding of these books, we will have an entirely different religious experience (TM 114). Frazee] there are simple and basic principles that can give you guidance in your study, to prepare you for the soon coming crisis.
