As this civil year approaches its final few weeks, the state of the country/world/economy is on the minds of many leaders, executives, and politicians. One of the biggest challenges facing the global economy, outside of climate change, is the on-going trade war between the U.S. & China; “which now threatens to drag into 2020.” Former U.S. Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, recently warned that “an unresolved conflict could lead to problems ‘even worse‘ than when World War I broke out…“

“Thinking men” in this world see the events that are taking place globally, and they continue to express their growing concerns about these matters. And certainly, when problems go unaddressed, a crisis is the sure result. It is no surprise that an agreement has not yet been reached. The Lord declares a more solemn end for these countries; and in a few short months, there will be a time of trouble which no nation has ever witnessed.

In India, China, Russia, and the cities of America, thousands of men and women are dying of starvation. The monied men, because they have the power, control the market. They purchase at low rates all they can obtain, and then sell at greatly increased prices. This means starvation to the poorer classes, and will result in a civil war. There will be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation. . . . Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.”–Ms 114, 1899. {5MR 305.4}

We will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things; for Christ faithfully gave the warning message of these coming events, and of the end of the world. Yet, the devil is doing all that he can to distract us from the real issue behind this great controversy. How foolish would it be if all we did was hear the warnings of God, but did nothing to prepare our hearts and homes for this soon coming crisis?

We are moments away from the beginning of the end! We must seek to get all things ready for the crisis that is even at the door. Let’s begin at once to reconsecrate our hearts and our homes to Jesus, as we prepare for the coming of the Lord.
