This Generation Shall Not Pass

A few weeks ago, over 200 Israeli rabbis sent President Trump a letter, thanking him for the administration’s “favorable policies” towards Israel. In addition to the Embassy being relocated to Jerusalem (in May 2018), the U.S. declared that Israel has settlement rights to Judea and Samaria. Quoting several verses from Scripture, the rabbis expressed their appreciation for this policy change, stating that – We get to live in the generation where these prophecies [in favor of the Jewish nation] are fulfilled word for word…” the letter read.

This would not be the first time that God’s prophetic promises were misapplied. The devil was successful in causing ancient Israel to misinterpret the prophecies concerning Christ and His First Advent to this world; and today, he is succeeding to blind the minds of men regarding the prophecies pointing to God’s chosen people, and the Second Coming of Jesus. Although God’s message for this time is certain, man fails to make a right application of the Scriptures.

It is true that there are prophecies yet to be fulfilled. But very erroneous work has been done again and again, and will continue to be done by those who seek to find new light in the prophecies, and who begin by turning away from the light that God has already given

… Satan is at work to undermine the faith of the people of God at this time. There are persons ready to catch up every new idea. The prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation are misinterpreted. . . . These messages, received and acted upon, are doing their work to prepare a people to stand in the great day of God. If we search the Scriptures to confirm the truth God has given His servants for the world, we shall be found proclaiming the first, second, and third angels’ messages. {CTr 342. 5, 4}

To make it through a time of trouble such as never was, we must have a relationship with Jesus such as never was; for – “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled” (Matt. 24:34).
