In the recent weeks, the state of California has been dealing with devastation from at least 8 fires; forcing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of residents, during this year’s fire season. Wildfires and a lack of affordable housing “are two of the most visible and urgent crises facing California, raising the question of whether the… state is fast becoming unlivable.”

Very soon, life-threatening conditions will not be isolated to only a state in this country, or a small region of the globe. We will all witness a future crisis that will be seen and felt world-wide. The Lord, in His mercy, allows the fiery trials of today to prepare us for the great and solemn events of tomorrow.

Our God is a God of mercy. With long-sufferance and tender compassion He deals with the transgressors of His law. . . . The Lord bears long with men, and with cities, mercifully giving warnings to save them from divine wrath; but a time will come when pleadings for mercy will no longer be heard. . . 

 

The conditions prevailing in society, and especially in the great cities of the nations, proclaim in thunder tones that the hour of God’s judgment is come and that the end of all things earthly is at hand. We are standing on the threshold of the crisis of the ages. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another–fire, and flood, and earthquake, with war and bloodshed. . . .  

 

The storm of God’s wrath is gathering; and those only will stand who respond to the invitations of mercy. . . {Mar 67.3, 4, 5}

At the throne of grace, He is pleading your cause before His Father.
