The above quotation is one that we may hear often, but how many of us truly understand its meaning and significance? The Gospel of Christ is the only antidote that may be given to this sin-sick world; and the Third Angel’s Message is one for warning and reproof. Bible prophecy continues to become a part of earth’s history, and we shall soon witness a time of trouble such as never was.
Says the Prophet, concerning the needful preparation to endure such times
… I was shown that a most solemn work is before us. Its importance and magnitude are not realized. As I marked the indifference which was everywhere apparent, I was alarmed for ministers and people. There seemed to be a paralysis upon the cause of present truth. The work of God seemed stayed. Ministers and people are unprepared for the time in which they live, and nearly all who profess to believe present truth are unprepared to understand the work of preparation for this time. In their present state of worldly ambition, with their lack of consecration to God, their devotion to self, they are wholly unfitted to receive the latter rain and, having done all, to stand against the wrath of Satan, who by his inventions would cause them to make shipwreck of faith, fastening upon them some pleasing self-deception. They think they are all right when they are all wrong. {Testimonies For The Church, Vol. 1; pg. 466.}
In Daniel 12 we read about a very solemn time. When Michael stands up and probation is closed there will be no High Priest and Mediator found for a people living in sin. The only hope for life eternal will be for those who -by becoming partakers of Christ’s divine nature- have made their calling and election sure. (see 2 Peter 1:3-11)
When Revelation 22:11 has been proclaimed, it will be too late to decide your position! So then, the questions must be asked: when will this time of judgement begin (or has it already begun)? Are the events that take place here on earth significant to Christ’s work that is taking place in Heaven?
