Colorful Rice

Delicious, colorful rice!


  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup yellow or orange pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup parboiled brown rice
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp yeast flakes
  • 2 cups water
  • 2-3 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro optional


  • In a skillet, saute onion and bell pepper in oil for about 2 minutes.
  • Add rice and stir until coated with oil.
  • Add tomatoes, turmeric, cumin, salt, garlic powder and water; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Add cilantro if desired.
  • Eat and Enjoy-to the glory of God! (1 Corinthians 10:31)
