John says, “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” Those who claim to have light from God, and yet turn away their ear from hearing the law, are under great deception. Those who understandingly reject the fourth commandment are in darkness. Says James, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” It is vain for us to think that we are prepared for the finishing touch of immortality, while we live in willful transgression of any of God’s holy precepts.
